This role is for an Engineering Manager, responsible for the Fraud Technology department of a major financial organisation, managing the team responsible for building platforms for integrating external data and signals into the fraud detection and customer verification platforms.
Delivery responsibilities involve building the platform and experiences for disputes and chargebacks, building the customer, merchant and agent user experiences for these areas. As well as hiring and managing world class software engineers.
Stakeholder management and leadership responsibilities include promoting and driving stewardship and application best practices within the development team, as well as strong knowledge of emerging software development methods, tools and standards and actively keep this knowledge current.
Decision-making and problem solving responsibilities include managing business requirements to understand how system requirements fit within overall business solutions. Challenge any requirements that are incomplete or do not provide sufficient clarity to support effective software development. Managing requirements to understand how both functional and non-functional aspects (e.g. capacity, availability, response times, etc.) need to be met.
For this role you'll ideally have strong experience in hard core platform centric software development and a strong background in building platforms and public apis. The technology the department deals with includes JDK 8/9/10, SpringBoot, MongoDB, Cucumber, Gradle, Docker. With these technologies used in the building of business-critical high-performance (20 milliseconds response times) OLTP systems with 5 nines availability, with resilient and self-healing service-oriented architectures.
