Looking for a new job can be difficult for a number of reasons.
Whether its looking for that pay rise that you've been yearning for, finding a better work/life balance, trying to escape your boss or just simply looking for something different, taking that step and deciding to navigate the online job boards is a bold and difficult move.
Because of how bad job ads tend to be.
Whether its poorly written copy, regurgitated job descriptions of wishlists asking for a unicorn for a fraction of the market rate, job ads tend to ignore their main function - actually engaging with the reader!
So with that in mind, I wanted to swoop in (I just watched the Avengers for the 3rd time so I am still in that 'I am a superhero' state of mind) and save the day so to speak. Well not really... but I thought I'd try and craft an interesting job ad that might just tick the boxes for you...
I have partnered up with a Global Enterprise in Bromley who are looking to hire experienced Scrum Masters as part of a company-wide recruitment drive in 2019.
The roles will see you build, coach and guide the Software Engineering teams through the full delivery lifecycle, working closely with senior stakeholders to successfully adopt the Scrum approach by fully owning the Scrum process. You will be given the autonomy to ensure that other visualise and embrace change, guiding the business through an Agile journey whilst acting as something of an SME.
Your duties will include transforming the team by embedding the Scrum approach and coaching the team in embracing and operating Scrum properly to effectively support the business. You'll be dedicated to helping the team to perform to their highest ability and to continually improve, as well as being responsible for building a culture of trust and no-blame within the team.
Ultimately, you'll champion the agile frameworks (Scrum and Kanban) within the team, ensure that Agile principles are practiced by peers and understood by stakeholders.
But enough about them, this ad is all about you after all... specifically, what you need to bring to the table in order to be considered...
* An industry recognised Scrum Master certification
* Proven experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle
* Experience working closely with technical teams, with a firm understanding of Software Engineering concepts and principles
* Previous leadership experience and excellent communication skills
* Experience working in a technical delivery capacity, ideally in relation to the delivery of web and/or mobile applications
In return, you'll benefit from a genuinely great company culture which promotes flexibility via remote working opportunities (2 or 3 days per week) and flexible working hours. Moreover, you will get a 9% pension alongside a range of other useful benefits.
So there you have it, a job ad that hopefully speaks to you as the reader (if you haven't already left due to my awful superhero-themed analogy at the beginning of the ad).
